the clear is thicker because the OEM have the orange circled off by a red while the clear is just a piece of clear below the red...

hey guys,
my retrofit guy in SF said it is a pain in the *** to seal the lamp when from two different manufactures (OEM & Aftermarket). He also mentioned that aftermarket tail lamps are a pain to open up and at times, it may be damaged.
Looks like this idea is going to die.
Solo, do you have a link to the lamps you measured?

maybe you can cut the black backing away from the lense, not where the lense and the black plastic meet; but somewhere on the black backing where the plastic starts to take its dome shape near the lense....do the same on the other light, and swap...... then epoxy or glue back together.
looks possible
pingu you have that spare light for sale right?
