Aloha screeching noise in steering column on start up
Aloha my 2000 GS 300 makes a screeching noise in the steering column on start up. Even when the engine is off it makes the noise. When I put the key in the accessory position I can feel a pulsing in the brake peddle with the noise coming from somewhere in the steering column. It will last from a few seconds to about a minuet. IF I press down on the break peddle it last longer. The screeching noise is heard sometimes in sharp turns. It sounds like a gear turning somewhere and it needs to be greased or replaced. I removed the 3 screws that hold the plastic cover on the bottom of the steering column. I put the key in the accessory position with the engine off I can hear the screeching, but I don’t see anything moving in the column. What could the problem be?
