Bad door locks? How do they work?
Hey guys. I have been having trougble with my front door locks. They wont lock when I arm my car or hit the lock button. Does anyone know if our cars lock motors are common to go bad?
I thought thought maybe they didnt lock because when I turn my door panel off I noticed the plastic sleeve that holds the inside manual locks cable in place was broken, so I disconnected the. But they still dont lock. Does anyone no how these door locks work? Does te manual inside lock cable have to have tension on it, in order for the lock motor to work with the auto lock buttons? Any help is appreciated, my car is unsecure right now.

The door lock actuators are something that often go bad on our cars. Unfortunately, the dealership charges some rediculous amount for them, but I think there is an ongoing groupbuy for them on here somewhere. As far as all those cables and what not, I am not sure if that is the problem, or if it is the actuator(s), but chances are it is the actuator(s) since they fail on a regular basis.
