Default Arm rest in backseat

quick question for you GS owners

I drive a '92 SC300, but am looking at switching to a newer lexus, probably a GS

anyway, do the rear seats fold down

and does the middle arm rest separate the trunk and backseat or is the gas tank inbetween

curious cause my sc300 is hard as hell to get loud, subwoofers rattle my trunk more than anything and there is almost no port to allow bass into the main cabin

Rear seats don't fold down, and gas tank is in between.

edit: Gas tank under the seat, my mistake. I drilled through the area behind the seat so I'm pretty sure it's not the gas tank.

rear seats do not fold down. no gas tank between trunk and cabin, the gas tank is below the rear seat.

97-001 ES300 has the trunk access by flipping down the armrest. The seats don't fold down though.

Are you buying the car specifically for audio?

Even though the rear seat do not fold down, you can remove the OEM subwoofer in the middle of the rear deck to get more cabin gain.

not specifically, but want to improve from where I'm at now

I've done that for the sc300, all rear deck speakers including sub are removed but I'm just not getting the response I want

You'll learn to live with it

I was also worried about that before I bought my GS (audio fanatic), but then I was willing to sacrifice some volume for other things

If you want a GS with some good response, you're going to have to hack up the rear deck, but then that would mean you're altering the structural integrity of the car.

I'm slightly dissappointed in the GS for not having folding rear seats.

The GS isn't a utility vehicle, premium luxury cars value excellent seats, strutural integrity and quietness over the ability to fold back seats down.

Consider living with the nice Nachamichi stereo that comes in these things, its actually very highly rated.
