Default Noisy Tilt motor.....

Has anyone ever had their tilt motor make noise? I noticed it the other day that when I start the car and the motor on the column starts moving, it makes noise when it tilts. My RL had an on/off switch but I read that the GS has to be "programmed" by the dealer to turn off this feature.

Can I just pull the fuse to turn off or if you guys have had this problem, how much did it cost you to fix???

I have this problem too. I'm going to take apart the steering column this weekend to grease the motor if possible.

You used WD40 on your tilt motor? isn’t WD's job is to DEGREASE??!!!

I would get some silicon grease ASAP, and apply it before you ruin something.

However... I DO agree that the motor is noisy... not sure if the motor can be used from other Lexus cars... because the LS' is SILENT... just quiet... barely can hear it with the engine, and radio off... no vibration's either.

WD-40 is a degreaser as mentioned. Get some grease!
