* TIRE FITMENT QUESTION??? *
In my ongoing quest for the "most proper" tire application for my upcoming particular setup, I have heard from various members here that a 9' wheel will accomodate up to a 275mm! Now after checking on various brands and their application charts, I have noticed that most manufactures are calling for no smaller than a 9.5 in. wheel & up when the tire is a "30" series (275/30/19) but if you go up on the aspect ratio to 35, then they list a 9' in. as able to work?! Now the reason this is obviously ($$$) a concern is that after narrowing down my dimension range there are only two brands I'm interested in! Ironically they offer slightly different sizing. So after painstaking research my 2 options are:
1. 235/35/19 Front & 265/30/19 Rear (280 treadwear!)
2. 245/40/19 Front & 275/35/19 Rear (220 treadwear)
Both of my choices have AA traction and are Max Performance!

Are you talking about having 9" rims all around? If so, I think that's a crazy setup with different tire sizes.

I think the 2nd option for tires is too high for the size. Cause all 19s usually have the 245/35/19 and 255-275/30/19 staggered setup. I would go with the first set of tires than the second for sure.

I value you guys opinions and insight. Did you all read the post that I did in reference to Marcus' question?
How did you all decide on opt. 1 as opposed to opt. 2??
Just curious.... Again, we are dealing with such minute measurements it really falls to preference.
I felt like Marcus would benefit more from getting the wheel well slightly more filled, and at the same time gaining a little bit of ground clearance. The performance(braking and cornering) would remain the same. In opt.1, IMO, the ride quality(comfort and luxury) would be sacrificed a bit with such extreme low profiles....Lastly, I re-emphasize how small these variances really are when looking at the measurements....Gimme your opinions, I know Marcus is curious as well. Thanks in advance, Tiny

Hey Marcus, I would do the following...
On the front, I would do the 235/35-19 because you're already SLIGHTLY oversizing the tire on a 8" wide wheel...(225 is the "correct" size for a 8"...) If you went with a 245, you're sidewalls will bubble a little bit...plus your speedo will be off by +5.5% with the 245/40-19 setup compared to the factory 17" wheels...with the 235/35-19 setup, it'll only be off by +0.6%...
What I would recommend is to get a 19" x 8.5" wheel and put a 245/35-19 on it!
Now for the rear...a 255 is the "correct" size for 9" wide wheels so 275 will again, bubble the sidewall a little...275/35-19 will be +4.9% off from the stock 17" tires also. The 265/30-19 will be only -0.3% off.
While the % off doesn't really bother me, but the width of the tire vs. the width of the wheel does. Again, in this case, I would try to get a 9.5" wide wheel and do the 275/35-19.
But with your case being a 8" and 9" wide wheel, I would go with the first setup also.
You also have to remember that the widest wheel you can get on your car isn't necessarily the best (at least up front). RUF's new R Turbo uses a 225/40-19 tire up front (on a 8.5" wide wheel) because they tested various tire widths and found that the 225's offered the best handling characteristics...of course, this is this tire on this specific setup...the rear is a 305/25-19 (on a 11" wide wheel)! :eek:

LOL! Very funny Manaray, very funny. Actually after finding out the offset of the wheel, I really needed to go "265" out back! I'm just not too thrilled about those thin a** tires. And the potential to f*** up my rims on a pothole or some ******! :eek:
