Default Fog Lamp Aftermarket Bulb Issue

Hey wassup guys I jus recently replaced my stock fog lamp bulbs with an aftermarket made from " Cuzo " 55 watt, but supposly pushing out 80wtt ( Indicated on packaged sticker )... After 2 weeks of driving with my fog lamps ( always turned on ) I noticed my passenger side bulb had burned out ( Becus of my busy schedule ) I did not bother to further inspect the problem or the bulb, so I jus replaced it with a new one.... another 2 weeks later, passenger side bulb burned out again,... so finally after further inspection I noticed the socket ( that holds/ attachs to the bulb ) and the underside of the bulb had partially melted, due to maybe a combination of constant use of the fog lamps & the high wattage..... As for the driver side, the bulb is okay, but i do noticed a slight burn/melt of the socket & the bulb..... Has anyone experience this issue with an aftermarket ( so called high wattage ) fog lamp bulbs? and is it a concern if fog lamps are constantly turned on while driving?

this happens all the time and would not recommend placing a higher watt bulb over 55w. looks like your harness has or will melt. your harness was not designed to handle higher watt bulbs.

Me and my friend had the same problem. Easiest fix for this is to cut your old harness if you want and connect them to a metal pin found in autozone for like $2. So it will be contact of metal to metal and will never burn out. Unless the bulb dies out of course.

don't use them high wattage blue bulbs (ebay ones). they do some crazy damage.
