Default Rod Bearing Issue?

Has anyone heard of a rod bearing issue on high mile Lexus V-8's? The reason I ask is I don't know of any other engine that does not suffer from normal rod bearing wear and need to have the rod bearings replaced. Usually at around 120K, the bearings have worn to the point where there is .004+ clearance. At that point, oil has a hard time keeping the parts away from each other. What happens is you get spun bearings and destroyed engines.
I know we are talking about a Lexus here, I was just wondering it this is an issue.
Thanks
Bill

Does not appear to be an issue with these motors or else it is very seldom discussed. That said, I know of one SC400 which lost a rod bearing as the oil was changed around every 20k miles and the car abused. Bearing went at around 200k miles which is not bad considering. Crank is forged so it held up fine but needed to be turned and oversized bearings used. Rod was perfect so no issue there which was a welcome surprise.
