Spoiler & Deck 3rd Brake Light - Tint?

Ever since I had the Lexus dealer add the factory rear spoiler, I've hated having both the spoiler and interior third brake lights. I was actually surprised when I picked up the car post-install that there wasn't just some plug covering the hole where the interior deck spoiler is located.
Here's a link to a pic of my car I just posted that clearly shows the two lights:

Long ago, I popped open the deck light and painted over it with liquid electrical tape to black it out, so at least both don't light up.
I know I could replace the rear deck (and actually got prices from Steve to do this), but I have a 10" JL sub sealed box mounted below the deck in the trunk, and I don't want to worry about the dealer screwing up my stereo.
MY QUESTION: For those of you with tint, how much does tinting conceal the interior 3rd light? What % tint is it? Do you have a pic you can post?
Dexter (on this board) got the max tint allowed by NC law and I checked that out this weekend, but since he doen't have the spoiler on, tint over his interior 3rd light is cut and open.
Thanks,
David

dave,
i have thought about this issue long and hard as i will be getting my new gs in a few weeks. if i opt for the nav+ml pkg, then no prob, the spoiler is factory, no rear deck break light.
but for add-on wing spoiler i would do both-the electric tape as you did and tint the rear. if your tint factor is at 15% or below, you can barely see the light(w/no tape). plus, the spoiler height would also act as a barrier on the eye level.
if you choose 35%(medium) tint for the rear, you would prob need the tape on the light to completely black out the annoying light. i would say get whatever tint you like in the first plce, then decide if you still need the tape.
replacing the rear deck for ~$800-1000 is just not cost effective, imo.

Here's the NC text from
http://www.pcisys.net/~bpc/auto_law/tint/tint_nc.html
You should be able to find yours there too.
The total light transmission of the tinted window must be at least thirty-five percent (35%). A vehicle window that, by use of a light meter approved by the Commissioner, measures a total light transmission of more than thirty-two percent (32%) is conclusively presumed to meet this restriction.
I think my tint is 35% (it allows 35% thru), which when added to any tint in the factory glass, will not keep it from passing at the 32% level.
It's really not dark at all.
Here's the pic Dave is referring to:

Thanks for the replies and the compliment (Bit)!
Looks like I'm limited to 35% tint in North Carolina by law... Dex, next time we get together, I need to pay more attention to the tint level inside your car...
I still hate that I'll see the "rear deck appendix" when I look in the rear view mirror. Maybe I'll just tint the mirror too .
Anyone have a good pic of 35% rear window tint on a GS covering the interior 3rd brake light?
