AC Help Needed
1995 GS300 air conditioning help needed.
Air blows but will not go below ~ 80 degrees. I have changed the compressor, dryer, pressure valve, blew out, vacuumed, and recharged the system with no change. ~35oz of 134 was put in. The static pressure is ~ 100lb, low pressure running is ~45lb @80 degrees and radiator temp is 162 degrees, and high side is ~200lb. There are no leaks, the clutch is coming on, fan is working, and I have gone through the 1995 Lexus repair manual volume 2 page AC13 through AC45 (These test all the sensors, controls, dampers, etc..) The only thing found not to pass the test was the solar sensor but it is stuck at 5v which means that it is in full sunlight and I do not think that would cause the air to not be cold. The heater functions fine. I decided to feel the lines and the, I believe, suction side tube of the compressor is very cold going all the way to the evaporator pressure regulator (EPR) which is part of the tube going into the firewall. What is interesting is that the cold stops at the input side of the EPR and after that the line is warm. The warm side is what is going into the firewall to the evaporator. (this is the large suction side not the small liquid side)
I am at the point I do not know what to do next. Any help, tests, comments, or personal experiences are greatly appreciated. I hope someone has seen this before.
Thanks, Mike
