Is there any way to mod the fog lights to run without having to turn on the headlights first, has anyone done it for our model? does the other mod for the 2nd gen work as well? all i find are the 2nd gen mods?

It can be done. You need to trace the fog light power wire and get it key on power vs from the headlight relay. If you do they'll stay on even when the high beams are on.

Make sure its the power in for the switch. It may also be switched ground so then just have to ground it before the switch. Once you turn the switch on it'll activate the lights. Another way is just rewire the whole circuit but that's not very clean.

I was just thinking about this same topic today. I will take a look at a wiring diagram to see how to make this work. Let if you figure out a way to do this!!
