Default Torque Master spark plugs

I was thinking about buying these since it's time to replace my old ones, but I heard a couple horror stories. Anyone using these in their GS? Everyone says that they definitely increase performance, but break on occasion due to some spotty welding around the electrode.

considering the effort it takes for the sparkplug change in the 2jzge, i'd stay away from any plug that is known to have failure issues. just stick with iridium densos or ngk.

The problem with the spot welds were from TM plus way long time ago. The current versions of plugs are not welded, rather a one-piece design like most normal plugs out there. The horror stories you hear are from mostly RX-7 users. Their engines run considerably hot, which was enough to affect the welds of the old plugs.

i know what it takes, and for a lot of lexus owners that dont do their own work it can end of costing a lot at a shop for that 25 minutes.. no to mention the associated gaskets and vacuum lines..etc.

i personally dont like the bosch platinum +4 amd TM type of designs that dont allow you to set your own plug gap and tune for your own setup.. to each their own.

on my gte i'm running about .026" gap on ngk 3330s to maintain constant spark under boost.. no chance for that on the 4 electrode plugs..

it's not that hard at all, how i do it is i just slide the tb and gasket to the end of the studs and change the plugs like that, o yeah there is a coolant line under the tb as well, make sure you unscrew that too. The hardest one are right under or close to the studs(#4 and #5) but are still able to get to with a flexable spark plug socket. --MIC.

Well, I've changed them on an SC before I figured it wouldn't be much different. However, yeah you're right it does seem to be all the RX7 owners complaining about the old 4 point welds. I may try them out this time.
