Default Towing a u-haul

I am moving from Boston to Austin and was wondering if it is possible to attach a hitch to my 1996 Lexus GS300 to tow one of those U-haul Carriages. Has anyone done this, is it possible?

Believe it or not, I put a hitch on an AE86 and dragged a 5x8 U-Haul loaded with crap about 2,700 miles. If I had to do it over again, I would get the U-Haul truck and auto trailer and tow the car.

The extra load on a 1996 transmission could be the kiss of death.

Very true. Considering the risk, it's better to spring for the 14' U-Haul truck and trailer.

It says in teh manual to not do it! Dont do it, especially with such and old car/transmission, theres no way it can handle it.

NO ONE makes a hitch for a 1st Gen GS300. I checked EVERYWHERE for about
two months. I ended up having a friend in a custom shop fab me up one. On
a 95 and older I'd say it's ok-ish, but on a 96 the tranny is supposedly much
weaker, I wouldn't risk it.
