Installing Ground Wires
Hey guys, got my system in, still need to put my 2 farad cap in and new alternator in because i think its crappin out on me.
My Cobra Detector shows the current voltage of my car, and the accesories such as AC, headlights, butt warmers all take up ALOT of voltage. Under regular operation, voltage is 13.6-13.9. Just me appying the brakes drops the voltage down a volt. With the AC on it takes up about .7 volts.
My sound system takes up very little voltage but my lights dim like noones bussiness. Also, when i apply my brakes with headlights on, they dim. Its probably my alternator so i have one coming soon (Thanks Kaiser)
I think my electrical system is not performing to its pottential so i got myself a set of ground wires from ebay for 25$$$ Does anyone have comments, hints, tips, pics of where these wires go!?
THanks a lot in advance!!

i had a customer one time bring in his ebay grounding kit. He wanted us to install them on his mazda6. we installed them, and his car didn't start. we then took off what we just installed, and the car started right back up. turns out the cheap ebay wires conducted ZERO electricity. it came with some aluminum block adapter for the battery, which was coated in some weird stuff that made it non-conductive.
you know, daizen has a grounding kit for the GS's that come with pre-labeled wires and detailed instructions on what goes where. it even has pictures for the install. the ones i've seen on ebay aren't worth anyone's time, and the gauge of the wire is too small to do anything.

I used the ones from Sun Automobile on my RX and very easy to install, but I agree the Apexi system is also very good. I had a friend install some on his RX7 and magically the AC that had not worked for awhile came to life.
A few places one can connect them to: thottle body, engine block, transmission, strut/shock tower bolts, body of car.

i have stinger ground kits... but my voltage goes down to 12.5 most of the time and thats everything on...
but anywayz.... u should upgrade ur alternator to 100amp-140amps if ur running that much power...
i am going with a 140amp

That's reassuring. It has a 2 year warranty on it and I have a 2 spare stockers as a back up. I have electric fans, a stereo and max AC going in Arizona. I'm swapping the motor to a GTE with coilpacks and want to make sure I have the power to run the car. When I hit the brakes now, the dash lights get dim and the AC fan slows down. Not working for me. The voltage gets so low the A/C freaks out and shuts off the stator. Once I start rolling again, it re-engages and cold air blows again. I pulled the codes off the control unit and it's not the compressor.

Its not even so much as the sound system is draggin down the voltage but me pushing on the brakes makes it go down from High 13s down to 12.2 which is beginning to concern me (Could my brakes fail on me??) Jumps right back up after idle or i push on the gas. The AC is the second factor of bringing the voltage down to mid 12s.
I'll update you guys after i get my alternator in.
