I admit to being lazy as this is in the manual, but when I need the light, it's dark outside. Which switch goes in what position to enable the dome light to come on when the driver door is opened?

Well try opening the door, changing the light switch, and then repeat until you find the correct position. If this is too complicated try reading the owner's manual...

you press the button right next to the dome light with the outline of a car with the doors open

Thanks for your reply, which resolved my issue. I was in sort of a catch-22 as I leave the house when it's dark to go to work. Making it impossible to see which buttons do what. Forgetful as I am I kept forgetting to check when it was light. Also, after the door is opened/closed there is a delay until the light goes off. As soon as the start button is pressed the light goes off.

For the record I did try to look it up in the manual once, looked on the cabin diagrams for the light and switches. Most of the other items had a page call out shown, but the dome light and switches had an asterisk that denoted "check the owner's manual".
