Default Park Assist Sensors

Just an FYI for those who didn't already know. If a park assist sensor is dirty you will receive a warning saying to clean the sensor in both the Nav screen and in the center column display. It will even indicate which sensor is dirty. The red warning triangle will also not clear on the center column display but if you hit map or menu the Nav screen will go back the the previous screen.

I was driving today and found myself behind a haul truck that was kicking up mud from the site it had been on. It must have covered one of the sensors while I was driving. Once I got off the road and dropped to sub 30mph or slower speed the warning came up and I panicked a bit thinking one had failed. Sure enough when I parked and got out of the car the sensor indicated had a thick clod of mud over it. I wiped it off and the warning went away.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't experienced this to date but it's good to know and not think something is defective.
I'm not even sure where these sensors are located. Have to go and take a look.

Bob- I'm sure you don't follow too close to haul trucks. Your baby is well taken care of. .

They are the four "dots" on your front and rear bumpers. I mention this mainly because there have been a few threads where people thought their sensors weren't working or had failed. It seems you will get a warning when they aren't working properly or need to be cleaned.

Not when they're kicking up mud Art...

Atoyota: I wondered why those 'dots" were so prominent. This is why I like this forum so much. Always able to learn...

Thanks...
