2013 ES350 HID Low beam adjustment
#16
If you have HIDs you do have the leveling system. While it's true that it does not level the beams while you are moving. It will adjust them when the vehicle is stopped. See the explanation below on how this works. With any vehicle if you are going over bumps or hills blinding another driver would be a problem albeit a temporary one whether you have the leveling system or not.

If you are really that worried about it all of the projection headlights have an adjustment **** under the hood.
The attached picture is from the previous gen but it should be a similar procedure.

Isn't this similar to Chrome's post, but for the older gen? I feel my HIDs are perfectly aimed on level ground and static. However, as another poster said, the current HIDs are only load sensing (meaning simple adjustment based on load to the vehicle) and not dynamic like other HID systems. If you adjust the entire system, you might either reduce reach of the lights or go too high and blind everyone.

Mine came badly aimed from the factory, I had a nice bright pool of light right in front of me and a sharp cutoff at middle distance. With 2 turns of the adjustment wheel, I get bright light without blinding other drivers. My previous non-Lexus car had bi-xenon lights that constantly adjusted their aim based on road angle, these also weren't properly aimed from the factory. Maybe dealers don't check when handing over cars to buyers?
