Nuluxe is Luxury?

It's a sign of the times. Look at the robust sales of MB and BMW entry level-mid level cars, CUV's and SUV's, many with the fake stuff, and it's apparant the consumers are making the adjustment and accepting non-leather interiors.

While we are on this topic, any suggestions for cleaning the nuluxe? My last Lexus had actual leather and I used a leather cleaner that help keep that new car/leather smell. I'm reluctant to use that on the new lexus with the Nuluxe. The owner's manual is pretty generic.

remember warranties on electronics ..... Started with life time ... Down to 5 years and now 1 year is pretty standard. Whats next 3 months?

Lexus, MB, BMW etc. still offer leather as an extra cost option. So if one wants leather it is still available to them.

The "base" leather offered on many makes as optional is generally of mediocre quality. There seem to be two tiers in that a superior quality is offered on higher trim levels or inherent with the mfgr's "flagship" models.
If Nuluxe looks and feels like leather and wears better, that's good enough for me! Personally, I'd prefer not to use animal hides when possible.

I wouldn't use dish soap, its very harsh and strips out any oils from the product. Use a dedicated cleaner.

I agree. There are a lot of automotive cleaners for leather/vinyl to choose from. Look at the web sites of different brands (Meguires, Mothers etc.) and it should be easy to find a suitable product. The vinyl will require less care than leather.

When I had a CT as a loaner it had nuluxe. Seemed okay but certainly felt more like a spongy, porous material than vinyl. Almost as if any cleaner would be absorbed... I would like to hear thoughts on this before I go look at an ES hybrid.... Is my recollection a little off?

The NuLuxe in the ES is a little nicer than the NuLuxe in the CT too as I recall...
