Default Semi-aniline less comfortable?

First off, happy thanksgiving!

I sat in my first ultra luxury es300h and the seats were uncomfortable! Specifically, it was the upper lower part of my back that hurt. I always have the lumbar support fully retracted (ie-not engaged). I'm pretty young so I don't have back problems normally.

The regular leather and nuluxe seats were more comfortable than the semi aniline.

Perhaps one of the 10 settings is off but I usually don't do much adjusting with the seats.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I can't see where a seat covering would cause a lumbar difference.Semi-aniline leather upgrade just has a more refined look and feel. Was the front thigh section extended for better thigh support?Another option in the '12 UL pkg.I don't know about the '13 where the extended thigh support may be standard on all models.

I sounds like more of an adjustment issue than a seat covering problem.

I'm average height 5'8" so the cushion extender didn't make a difference to me. I had the thigh support completely retracted. I'm hoping its a adjustment issue.

But if they changed the structure for the cushion extender, would it also change the structure of the seat back......

We have a new ES350 Ultra and I have to agree, the two front seats have too much lumbar support with the lumbar support adjustment set to the lowest position. My wife and I find the seats are very uncomfortable. Next time I am at the Lexus dealer I will sit in a ES350 with the standard leather seats to see if there is a difference.

Is not the Ultra-Luxury package the only way to get the driver seat extender? Perhaps it's an unintended function of that seat model. I did not notice the lumbar issue on a seat w/o the front extender (I have the regular luxury package), which does not include that feature.

The passenger seat does not have the extender and has the same issue with too much lumbar support. It may be the seats in the Ultra are different in more than just the type of leather used to cover them.
