Ideas??
2007 es350 Lexus. 160,000.00 miles. Regular oil changes. Driving in freeway vsc indicator light on, check engine light, traction light on. HIGH temp. Late at night pulled into gas station. Turn off car and the turn car back on and everything that was light up before back on. Drove car to another gas station about 2 miles away. This time I could smell a 'burning' smell. Motor made a funny sound and shook. Parked it and called AAA. Did I make is worse by driving it a few miles? I see $$$$$$$.

As a general rule of thumb you should never drive when your car is overheating unless you have no other choice (no AAA, or stuck on the freeway with no shoulder.)
If you do decide to drive and its overheating, you should ALWAYS turn the heater on to full to cool the engine down.
Basic automobile ownership knowledge would of helped you.

Maybe it started with water pump then...
I'm shocked that these cars doesn't have coolant level indicator.

When mechanic took a brief look when it was towed to his location. He popped the hood and saw maybe "coolant" all over. Said might be pump??? But cannot look until tomorrow.
Only because I was cold did I have the heater on. Temperature gauge was reading H. As soon as all the lights went on I got off at nearest exit as I was on the freeway. My bad for driving it a few miles to another gas station.
