I don't see a DIY that tells me how to remove the cover...

I removed the glass and replaced the bulb but while I tried to push it back - crack.

Im guessing you were having trouble getting it back on, got frustrated and then tried to brute force it? Those mirrors are pretty sturdy... You just have to be patient, keep your hand spread out and sort of massage the mirror back on with a circular wrist action. I always put quite some force into it and have never broken a mirror. Done it on 5+ cars now.
