New 2011 ES350 owner/Question about MPG
Hi Guys!
It's nice to be here. My dad recently (and finally!) traded in his Accord for a 2011 ES350 with Navi. It's a CPO with 22,xxx miles on it. Love the car. Drives like a dream.
He's just concerned about the gas mileage. I followed the instructions posted in another relative thread and reset the AVG MPG display. It started off at 0, and has built up to 17.x within city so far.
Now, i'm not sure if it's driving bias at play, but how many miles can a full tank of gas get you? I filled up to about a half tank, and my Range display read around 110 miles. I know that can't be right.
What's the best way to retrain the computer to our driving style, and get the awesome Mileage that this vehicle is supposed to get. I drive the car a lot more, and have been cautious on the pedal to drive in as much economy as possible. What else can I do to build up the average? Or will it level off eventually?
I apologize if a lot, actually all of these are newb questions that have been addressed before, but figured i'd ask other fellow ESers who have gone through this before.
Again, it's a pleasure to be here. I hope to participate more in the coming days/weeks and get to know some of you friends better.

I assume you are looking at "tank avg" . You just need to drive it more to see what you are getting. You should be getting around 24-26 mpg in 50/50 city highway driving. If you do highway driving at 70mph on CC you should be getting 30-32 mpg. Give it a few tank fulls and see what you get . You should see around 400 - 450 miles on a tank.

That's correct.
