For all the posts in this thread I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the ECU and the battery change. After the battery is disconnected and reconnected the car has to relearn your driving style. In my experience whenever the dealership drives the car around they are much less gingerly on the pedal than most of us. Either this or the initial learning of the ecu would account for your experience.
