2010 ES or 2013 Toyota Avalon?

I had a 2006 Avalon that I sold to purchase my wife's 2010 ES. I still miss that car. It road like a dream IMO and there was less road noise than from the ES. What I really liked about it was that it was much bigger inside than the ES. The ES has always felt cramped to me but my wife loves it and that's all that matters. Dollar for dollar the Avalon is one of the best out there.

The 2013 Avalon is a larger chassis then the 2010 ES which was built on the Camry chassis. The new ES350 body change now shares the same chassis as the 2013 Avalon. I would recommend that you take the test ride of both but if you want to make an apples to apples comparison then compare it to the new ES350. Make your selection based on how you feel the ride is.

After doing some more research on the 2013 Avalon it appears they have messed up the comfortable seats of past models. Appears it's not nearly as quiet as my 2006 model was either! According to Car and Driver it appears the interior decibel level now goes to the 2010 ES, Very minor difference but a difference all the same.
Based off of the reviews I've read today on the Avalon, I would probably pass. Sad.
You can find great info on just about all makes and models on C/D. Here are the two links on the 2010 ES and the 2013 Avalon:

Strictly a beauty is in the eye of the beholder thing. As others have mentioned if someone is REALLY interested in comparing the two cars they have to test them themselves. What I think is quiet and comfortable, the next person may not think so.

I know the OP is talking about a 10 ES and a 13 Avalon, but when I was comparing the two, it seemed that the price of the Avalon was almost the same as the ES350 for new cars. Does Avalon still make the bench seat in front ? Just wondered.

No, there's no front bench seat.

Conventional wisdom suggests buying the newer car - - certainly there are differences, but they would apepar to be more along the lines of personal preference and 'fit'.
Putting butt in seat would seem the best way to decide. Good luck-

I have driven both the 2013 Avalon and a 2010 ES (as well as 2013 ES). The quiet award would go to the 2010 ES and 2013 ES, although the Avalon is quiet too, so there is very minute differences.
As an aside, the 2013 Avalon has a horrendous looking interior dash, and it doesn't even come close to the elegance of the 2013 ES.
