VSA Extended Warranty Questions about how they work
I just picked up a 2010 ES350 with 48,500 miles on the odometer. As you can see the factory warranty is finished in 1500 miles or July this year. My question is how do the VSA extended warranties work when pricing them out. I see there are many year/mileage options however are those years accrued along with the factory warranty or they start when the the factory warranty expires? This car will probably have a lot of miles put on it so I was looking at the 4 year/100K warranty but does this mean I have 4 years/100K miles from the date of purchase of the extended warranty or would that mean the 4 years are up in July at the same time as the factory warranty? I hope the question makes sense. Let me know if I need to rephrase it...thanks fellas!
EDIT: I might of answered my own question. It looks like I will need to buy a 5/6/7/8 year extended warranty at this point which would provide me with 1/2/3/4 more years of coverage or until the mileage is reached. So if I plan on putting 20K miles a year on the car my better option would be to price the 7/8 year warranty. Correct?

its best to contract the warranty company your going threw or if buying from a dealer ask for a copy of the warranty repair contract policy and read all the fine print
all the warrantys i have found
if they say 3 years 45k like what i bought with mine
its 3 years from 45k fromt he time of purchase
how long do you plan on keeping the car most warrantys i have seen that you can buy run around 4 years 100k i dont think if seen anything that offers more than 100k
so if you driving 100k in 5 years then id buy the 5 year 100k policy no need to go 6 7 or 8 years i dont even think i have ever seen a warranty that offers more than 5 years
did you buy from a lexus dealer you might be able to go abck and have it certified and get a warranty from lexus
or the fedility coverage that is a aftermarket coverage that most dealers sell is a good policy from what iv heard
they tried to sell me one from fidiletiy a 4 year 100k for 2400
i new with a lexus i would not need it but i wanted a warranty anyways so i got one from the finance company directly i figured if the bank is selling the contract plan it must be good because they want there cars on the road they want no excuse for cusomters to stop paying on a car because of broken car so they must offer a good service i think i paid like 1100 dollars for the 3 year 45k plan
