Michelin Defender
The 215/55/17 defender (size for ES & Avalon) does come in a V rating with and an 80,000 mile treadwear warranty. It is a bit more expensive than the H rated Primacy and it is not as good in the rolling resistence department.

.... Jim08 ..... who has TWO gen3 Avalons recently put Primacy H rated on one ...... and defenders on the other. He's happy with both initially but hasn't had them long enough to post a "long term" update. Stay tuned !!!!!!!

nitto motivo
anyone who used this tire in their lexus es350 yet?
mine has the S8s on it right now. When it comes time to change them, I'll be looking at the Nitto Motivo. $150 per tire theyre cheaper than the michelins, and when I replaced the MXV4s on my E500, it rode better, handled better, and was much quieter. Definitely check those out also if you're looking for a better/cheaper alternative.

Lexus Fanatic
Wow my sister is up for new tires too on her civic and I did try to convince her to get the primacy but it was too expensive. We were going to get the exaltos for her but Costco doesn't stock those and guess what she is thinking about? Bridgestone Ecopias
Those are the lowest rated!

As for the alignment. An alignment is $60, takes 30 minutes. If your car were young, that would be one thing, but its not. 25k miles or not, its going on 6 years old. Plenty of alignment issues that would not cause a drivability concern, but that would cause premature tire, hub, and suspension component wear. Once you see that wear, its going to cost you more than $60.
This is from your own linked Acura thread, from your own post you highlighted
I am not really sure if I'd ever do a "preventive" alignment...but just about every vehicle I work on probably needs one if it didn't just get one...All it takes is a good rub against a curb. Or a really hard bump. After that...I bet something is not within spec anymore.

ok.. some thing to share.. I got Michellin primacy MX4 and the ride was good. compared to the OEM 36K tires I replaced
but some thing even better. .I got them rotated balanced . after 6 K.. now 42K and the feel of the road is MUCH better
dont know what happened but the balancing /rotation has taken the road feel /handling to another level- smoother /silent ride NOW.

Bridgestone Serenity Plus
The Bridgestone Serenity Plus Tires are rated #1 on Tirerack.com under the "all seasons grand touring category".
I had a set of the regular Serenity tires before and these tires are even better. Very quiet, wear well and are terrific in the rain.
Enjoy!

Couple of months ago, I got Bridgestone tires for $550 after some negotiations and using $150+ coupon. Too bad my Lexus got totaled after 2 weeks when tires had only 500 miles on it.
Recently bought another 2008 ES350....

Putting some Primacy MXV4 H rated on my '10 ES350. (1) What is the ideal tire pressure for riding comfort and 2) nitrogen or air- preference? Thanks.
Put 30# in all 4 with air. Rides like a dream.
