Default 07 nightmare

I heard a noise on my 2007ES when I turned the steering wheel , so I took my car to my mechanic to have it checked. He said the rack and pinion mounting bushings are bad and the bushings come with the rack only. He estimate for the job, $1300.00 total. I only have 42,590 miles on it, but it out of warranty. I can't believe it's a Lexus.I'm taking to Lexus dealer next week is there any hope they will fix it or am I screwed?

WOW. Ouch. Can try to work with the dealer on this and their zone office. That's why I go for the extended warranty: there's no fixing, just replacing the whole thing on new cars.

If you've been regularly taking your car to the dealer you plan on visiting and they show that you've kept up on maintenance - hopefully they will "good will" the service. It's something you can't fully expect - but it does happen on occasion.

Best of luck.......

Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow! problem ended up being a bad intermediate shaft . The best part is the shaft is on recall, cost to me $00000.00. All I can say is God is good.

Indeed it is a good idea to always go to the dealer first. Glad it worked out for you.
