window popped out
In reading various reliability reports (2007 ES) and some internet searching, I understand that there is a "fair" possibility of the passenger (or other) windows popping off the track due to a faulty plastic tab....causing replacement of the entire window. I search this forum without much luck to see if anyone out there has had the same issue???? anyone????

The driver's side front window came off the track about a year ago or so on my 2007 ES350. The window doesn't actually "pop out". It comes off the track and protrudes out near the top from the window frame. My glass did not break. It was replaced under warranty. No problems since.

Popping sound/window off track on my 07 es350 drivers side window ..4 years old w/ 60,000 miles...Popping sound once..then off track the next time I lowered the window...Took it into Toyota.....charged $54 to tell me that that the window needed to be replaced because of a broken clip at a cost of $630..I checked into local glass shops prices..One quote was $231 w/ one year warranty parts/labor ..Another quote was $338 with lifetime warranty parts/labor..I believe this problem is a design defect and a recall needs to be issued...I plan to contact Lexus satisfation..Hopefully, others will do the same...Also, failed to mention NO WINDOW TINT is on this window..Thanks

drivers side window popping out
Mine came off track to so i took it to a shop and they said they could fix it without replacing the whole window so i did that last year. In april of this year i rolled down my window and it came off track and I was told by lexus that I had to replace it and it costed me over $800 since I was at the 5 year mark. When I discussed this issue with other repair shops they said that this is a commom problem with lexus cars and should be fixed free of charge, but lexus did charge me. Let me know if you here of this being recalled. I kept my receipt.

I contacted Lexus Satisfaction...re: side window off track...They respectfully declined to assist w/ replacement free of charge....since my 07 es350 was over the mileage..(61k) and 49 months old...They suggested that I keep any repair bills for the side window, and when/if a recall notice is issued, I could be issued a refund..Since this design defect is not a safety issue, I do not expect a recall to be issued...I do suggest that anyone who has an off track/popping issue to contact Lexus Satisfaction to complain.....If enough complaints are made, maybe a recall will be issued...

This is my first post. I purchased a new ES350 in March 2007 and have driven the vehicle more than 110,000 miles. Approximately 6 weeks ago the front retaining clip on the front passenger window broke and the window stopped functioning normally. I wrote a letter to Lexus HQ in Torrance, CA last month detailing my concern that the window failed and that the only option was to replace the entire window. I received a phone call from the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Executive Coordinator today and Lexus offered to replace the window at no charge. I will post a follow-up note after the repair is completed.

Update: I went to Lexus of Jacksonville yesterday and the dealer replaced the front passenger window at no cost, including labor. I have a one year warranty on the new window. Additionally, the customer service rep asked that I contact him if I have a problem with the driver-side window. Kudos to Lexus for their customer support.

I wrote a letter to Lexus HQ in Torrance, CA. The customer service rep there arranged to have the repair done, not the local dealer. You may want to contact the CA folks.

+1, I haven't need to do it yet (hopefully never) but you'd be surprised with the results if you contact HQ. Be assertive and firm and yet friendly.
