Navigation Error
Twice now I have manually entered an address into the nav system and when I reviewed the routing, everything looked correct; it was in the general area I expected it to be.
It navigated us close to the destination but near the end, both times, turned us into a residential area and took us to an address different that what I had entered. When I checked again, the address number and the street name were different than what I entered but both were close to the final destination.
I have no idea why the address and street changed. Have any of you experienced this? Any idea what might have happened?

It is possible to code addresses as old and new, and if a current address is coded as an old address for a different current address, then it will automatically change it to the other destination.
In the Hertz case they were 10 miles apart and I was late for my meeting.

As it turns out in most cases where you are attempting to locate an address in a development, Navteq doesn't have the street numbering down to an exact science. Data available from developers do not at all times include number of lots on a street, etc. As a result the map developers algorithms are off by a lot or two.

Both cases resulted in the nav bringing me to a well-established (read old) neighborhood. I wonder if I need to take this in to the dealer for a review?

Ed, I may have read your post wrong. It seems your nav is not even close in a geographical sense. Sounds like an issue.
From my experience I can never get an address destination to get me exactly to the correct number. Street names have been right on except in one instance, but that was a Garmin.....unrelated to a Lexus.

My Tom Tom GPS this past week in the Detroit area took me close. Seemed the address I was looking for was divided by an intersecting street and land. In other words, same street name for two different street. One was residential and the other was commercial.
