Unhappy Trouble with bluetooth

Me and my brother have 2007 ES350 no nav and both of us have Palm centro phones. (sprint)

Both cars do the same thing. Press the talk button to pair the phone, name the phone, put the code in the phone, the phone says its paired but the car just says searching over and over till it times out.

Every thing I read says this phone should work. However neither I nor my brother are having any luck.

I think the Palm phones are not on the list from lexus that show they work together. If you visit www.lexus.letstalk.com you should be able to find out for sure.

I actually looked for you, and it should work... Silly question, but do you have your bluetooth turned on in the phones? You might want to contact your Delivery Specialist from where you bought your vehicle. They should be able to help you.

I just got my car so I don't have a service rep yet. My brother talked with his and he's working on it. One thing he said is we might need to delete the phone that is in the system before we can add another, and yes my brother had another phone which worked perfectly but has not been able to get his new one to work. Me on the other hand, I don't know whats in mine or how to delete it.

You can register up to 6 phones on the ES - if you can not pair your phone, your sales adviser should help you - this is on the pre delivery checklist. In other words, they did not do their job if they did not offer to do this, and show you how

Palm phones with Palm OS don't work, usually. I've never been able to successfully register one. It needs Windows OS to work.

Gotta disagee on that one. I have a Treo 700p with the Palm operating system. Works fine with my ES350. I even uploaded many contacts into the car system. I have Verizon service, but I doubt that makes any difference.

That's why I said usually. They are supposed to work, but I've tried about 15 or 20 of them and never gotten one to take. I know some people have, but it seems very hit and miss.

My Brother had a treo and it worked perfectly, then he got the centro and it would not work. I have a centro and mine doesn't work. I went to the dealership and they could not get it to work either and said that they were also having trouble getting the new blackberrys to work. I guess the question to ask is; Does the car have the problem or does the phone and which is the easiest to fix? Maybe someone has a software fix?

Treo 800w works. But it's a WinMo phone.

If you've got more than one phone loaded into the car, how do you get it to recognize the non-primary phone? Assume the primary one isn't in the car? I woulda thought it'd do it automatically (just search down the list until it finds one), but it doesn't on my car.

If you have Auto-Connect enabled on the Lexus BT configuration screen, it is supposed to automatically connect with the last phone that successfully connected to it; otherwise you'll have to go into the Lexus BT screen and manually select the phone you want to use (assuming it has been previously configured w/ the Lexus BT). At least that is the behavior I have observed w/ my ES (I initially thought the same thing you did)...

Easy fix...
Turn off the Treo phone
Run the pair process, enter the pin
Then, while the lexus is still searching, turn on the phone and make a call
Done - you are paired.

How did you get the contacts to transfer over ESsearch?

Went to the sprint store. He could not get the palm to hook up or the new treo 750. He tried is new windows based phone an it would not connect. We tried a blackberry and it worked perfectly. He's working on the problem to find a solution.
