Default Looking at a Used 07 ES350 UL

It has the Ultra Luxury package with chrome wheels. No XM or Ipod. 11K miles and getting it for $30K. Is this a good deal for a used ES?

That is what I drive. Yeah, $30K is probably a good price....BUT, what is the build date? Does this car have transmission issues? Is it a Lexus buyback? What is the history?

Do your research, many 07's had some serious transmission flare issues.

If the tranny is clear, sounds like a great deal. Low miles for an 07!

It definitely is an early build date since their lease is almost up. However, it is the original owner and in excellent condition. Couldn't tell if there were transmission issues but hasn't it been resolved with recent TSBs?

And start it up when it is cool. Our '07 Ultra ES350, 17,000 miles on it, sounded like a diesel car leaving this morning in 58 degree F temperature.

Yes, there are flash updates. Some owners have no idea their tranny is flaring. So, it could have the problem and the driver thinks it is normal.

Also, as garsarno mentioned, the engine knock on cold engine (cold temp outside). It is piston slap. Worse on early builds like mine and his.

Be very careful, but if you do your homework and test the car out carefully, it is a buy!

You may want to do due deligence by reviewing the historical posts on this forum on the 07 model...it was not Lexus' best effort...mine was a lemon. However, others were very satisfied....a crap shoot? Lexus should not have been playing in this arena of uncertainty...but they were.

Thanks for all the responses. I picked up the car this weekend and it is a beauty. Already have driven it a few hundred miles and no issues so far.

Now to check with VaisTech to install XM and Ipod connections.
