Purchased Platinum Extended Warranty
I just had an EXCELLENT experience purchasing a Platinum Warranty for my ES 350. I purchased it from Jeff Matherne, General Sales Manager, of Lexus of Huntsville, Alabama.
I checked several dealers in the L.A. area and then came upon a post in Club Lexus mentioning him. His price for a 7 year 100,000 mile zero deductible warranty was $1,365, way below what I was offered in California.
I emailed him with my Vin Number, received a UPS express mailing the next day, signed the paperwork, expressed the paperwork back (dealership paid), and just received the Service Agreement issued by Lexus today.
In case anyone is interested his number is 1-800-721-9560.
I must say it was an EXCELLENT and painless experience. It was handled professionally and swiftly. I just wish the dealership was in California so I could have bought my car there.

The Lexus of Huntsville reference caught my eye. This is where I live and where I bought my ES-350. Don't know about the warranty since I didn't buy an extended one, but I'm happy with the dealership so far. I enjoyed working with my salesman (which is VERY unusual!) and so far am pleased with the service department. I went in for the 5000 mile initial service and had them apply the TSB procedure for creaks along the windshield/dashboard intersection. That seemed to fix the "creaking windshield" problem. They also told me when I picked the car up that they had broken the retainer clip on one of the visor pieces, that the part was on order and they would call when it came in. I would never have known unless the visor part fell out, so I was very pleased with how up-front they were about what had happened and that they were taking care of it.

It's pretty close to bumper to bumper (with exceptions, of course). IIRC, the dealerships offer two or three "tiers" of extended warranties with the platinum warranty providing the most extensive level of coverage. I bought the 7 yr / 75,000 mile / $0 deductible platinum warranty. The list price for that warranty is something like $1800. The dealer initially offered it to me for even more than that! Thankfully, I'd been reading the ES350 forum here @ CL and knew that other people had purchased the same warranty for $1080. I offered to purchase the warranty for that same amount and the dealer instantly agreed.

Just want to add, and I mentioned that before already. If you get your tranny replaced (based on the flare problem), you are automatically entitled for a free 100k Platinum Service Warranty. Some dealership are not aware of that, and it has to be worked out with Corporate Lexus office. I still have my certificate somewhere, of course for a former ES350 that is.

good to know. It would be even better if they gave a free super platinum 200k warranty. cuz toyotas are supposed to have no problem going 200k on the original transmission.
If your transmission dies at 101,000, your so screwed.
