Default Front Grille Emblem

2010 Lexus ES 350 - No Radar

Hi,

I've been looking to change the Lexus L emblem on the front grille to a 3D logo found on newer Lexus vehicle and was wondering if it will fit.

Here is what the current emblem looks like and the back plate:

Note the two holes in the right and left side of the backing. The chrome emblem has two pins that slot into those holes.

Here is the new emblem and it's backing:

Just based on the images, it is clear that the emblem will not fit regardless of it's dimensions. My question is, can the backplate of the regular chrome logo be removed from the grille? Any other method I can use to install the new emblem?

Any input is appreciated.

As you said in answer to your own question, it is the wrong size for the hole in the 2010 grill.
No matter how you do it, the emblem will look out of place, like something you stuck on it because you could not afford a body shop to do a proper repair. Leave it alone.

You'd be downgrading in my opinion. New logos are plastic like and look cheap.

I wanted to achieve a clean look with black and chrome accents. The original badge is chipping like all plastic chrome in my car (appears to be a common defect with MY2010 ES). I replaced the center caps with ones that look similar to the 3D logo.

It's not a huge deal though, I will just replace the emblem with the OEM one from the dealer.

The chrome emblem is ~$50; whereas, the 3-D emblem is ~$280. Quite a ridiculous price difference. I bought the 3-D emblem for $80 and so wanted to give it a shot.

Ah the chrome chipping year. I wonder what they got wrong for the chrome to have a problem in those years.. THat's unfortunate. Well, good luck with your endeavor
