Lexus Gas Cap or Aftermarket??
My wife was driving and called to tell me that the Check Engine symbol was "on" and VSC and TRAC OFF words appeared on the dash. I looked this information up on Google while she was on the phone. Most ES300 owners seemed to think issue is a defective gas cap. My question: Is a Stant gas cap from NAPA at $12.00, as good as the gas cap from the Lexus dealer at $31.50? Lexus claims that theirs has a check valve in it which makes it better. I would like to know what ES300 owners have to say about which one to purchase.

If indeed it is the Cap than buy an original Lexus cap from the dealer. They're specifically designed for our cars. Aftermarket caps are not.
Did you retrieve the check engine light code? What was the code number?
Are you sure the Gas cap was tightened properly?
