Es330 engine / transmission replacement
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone on here has every replaced a motor or the transmission in an es330?
I'd like to know if one can be changed without the other, and if they can be replaced from the top with the hood off or I they must be replaced from underneath.
Also, will any 3mz (from solara, Camry se, sienna, highlander, rx330) fit? Any year?
What about the transmission? Any year any car? Or just an es330 04-06?
Thank you all tons!

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the ES330, Solara and Camry SE engine/tranny will just drop right in.
The RX330, Highlander and Sienna's transmissions are different because of the availability of AWD.

Well I wonder if a front wheel drive version of those would work?
Either way, all the electronics connections are the same for camry se solara and es?
Also, are we sure the engine and or trans can be swapped from the top?
Story is, I am about to buy an es, Lord willing, with 93,400 miles that has to last three years at 40,000 miles per year. So tip nearly 220,000. I am not opposed to a $700 motor or trany replacement but only if I can do it in my driveway. That's not the case if it must come out the bottom

let me get this straight: you are buying a good ES 330, and worrying about replacing the engine sometime? has the tranny been flushed on this car? the oil ever changed? was it never vacuumed?

It's in stunning condition. I just like to know my options
I am really curious to know for sure if camry Avalon and solara ones drop in.
Premium isn't required in any 3.3 toyota or Lexus right?
And thanks all

You are right - which is why they advertised a 70% hp gain in the 2005 Avalon from the 04 when the 2gr-FE came out and the still rated horsepower the old way. It said 280! Funny how 10 years can make people forget
