Help with Installation of aftermarket Stereo in 2004 ES 330

Hi,
I am a newbie here.. and wanted to see if I can get any input re: a question I have.
I am planning to replace the origin Stereo with an after-market stereo

I had inquired re: the installation at Bestbuy, and they had mentioned that I needed this harness:

Any idea why would I require the "amp interface" for installation ??
