98 ES300 HEADLIGHTS......Why and what the!
Hi folks, I wanted to surprise my Girlfriend with a set of Projector or some sort aftermarket/More Modern Headlight--------------But the market seems to literally skip Her Generation....1998 ES300.......
The shape and contours appear to be very similar to 1996, but 98's are 2 piece.....Is there a solution to this nonsense? can I retro fit or rig-a-maroll something with other models onto hers or is she stuck with the yellowing poor factory design????
if so, very strange and disappointing

96 and older are a completely different shape. You can buy HID factory headlights - those are rare and very expensive. They do not use projectors. You can also retrofit projectors made by Morimoto - time consuming and requires skill to get it right.
I recommend searching the forum for headlight retrofit as it's been covered a lot.

Spend $25 and buy a headlight polishing kit and buff the headlights. The difference will be amazing and the car will look much newer. You could also replace the standard halogen bulbs with cool white bulbs, or install the 2000-2001 headlights with HID's.

Alex what kind of fog lights are those!? Im searching for a **** yellow bulb to put in mine
My 2000 didn't come with factory HIDs. Will it not look right if I install a HID kit in the headlights?

Noya 2500k bulbs off ebay.
If you put xenons in your headlights now itll blind everyone. They dont have reflective housings like the ones that come with xenons. You can do it but will blind with glare. Ive done projector retrofits in my last 3 cars, was scary the first time but you need to start somewhere and learn

basically you either bake a headlight in the oven or with a heat gun to open them up and install projectors which are the eyeballs of a headlight that almost all newer cars have...if you don't know what they are then i wouldn't even attempt to do a retrofit...either pay someone to do it or forget about it...for a beginner it can be hard

So a HID kit will look completely different if I install it after doing projector retrofits? I wish there was a before and after pics on an ES so I could see how much of a difference it would make
