1996 Lexus ES300 convert to manual?
Hi, I was told by a performance shop that it was possible to make my 96 ES300 manual just buy getting the tranny, ECU, and axles off of a 92 ES300, is this true? I've been looking all over the internet for these and I just can't find it anywhere, been looking for months, anyone have anything to say?

The early 90's Camry and es300 had a manual option. Very very rare which is why you are having trouble finding one. Plus these cars are not popular with heavy mods, which is also why you are having trouble finding one. Honestly could take a long time to find one...

Solara 5-speed is a viable parts car to do a manual swap. Not easy you'll have to do custom wiring among other things but the platform is similar enough to make it work. Thing is if you find a Solara or any other manual transmission Toyota or Lexus you like then just buy the car it's much cheaper than doing a swap.
BTW the manual tranny from a '92-93 ES will bolt in to your car but the ECU won't like it you'd have to do a bunch of tricks to make the ECU think the auto box is still there. Plus the ECU is not tuned for the manual transmission.

E53 or E153, the latter being what came with the 1MZ 5-speed equipped models.

97-01 Camry CE V6 or LE V6 came in a manual with the E153 5 speed. Same with the 99-02 Solara SE V6. You can swap most of those parts from those cars and somewhere in the Toyota forums the auto ECU can be grounded to convert it to a manual computer. MR2 guys know this since manual ECU can be hard to find, not to mention some has immobilizer built in to the computers. I have a factory 5 speed ES and trust me you won't be disappointed!
