HELPP - Whirring noise in Front Passenger Side
Hi....I have a 2001 Lexus ES300 (older shape)...located in Australia so right-hand steering wheel...I have been hearing a whirring noise from passenger side when I go past 50-60kmh and increase with speed. Note as soon as I lift my foot of the gas the sound drops dramatically. I should add there is no change in sound when I rotate the steering wheel at speed.
Can you advise what it might be?

A easier and safer procedure (I love watching Eric the car guy, no homo) is to jack up the wheel off of the ground. Once that's done grab 3 and 9 o'clock and shake. Then 6 and 12 o'clock and shake. Most of the time audible whining from bearings is accompanied by play in wheels due to the advanced wear of bearings. If there is shake also check to see if tie rods and suspension isn't worn.

Just did complete rotor, caliper and pad change on all four. When I removed the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly: dry as a bone and when rotated off of the car I could hear the metal on metal. Fronts were good. I can imagine these were singing at higher speed but since they were the rear I never heard them.
