Trailering with an ES300
Ok ok. I know there is many a thread around the web about this, but none specific to the ES, so am I posing this question to the group here..
Can you tow a small utility trailer (4x8') with an ES300 with about 1,000 lbs of load? Has anyone on this forum ever tried using a trailer hitch with their ES?
I don't foresee using it more than once a month, and never over 40 mph.
I'm looking to do some light home remodeling and would rather not bother with renting a truck at a car rental place or a home improvement store. I know it's inexpensive to do so, but would rather have the convenience of the trailer whenever I needed it.
I appreciatiate your response. Thanks!

Yes. I wouldn't tow more than 1,000 lbs though. You could tow that all day if you don't have any other weight in the car. Figure the car is designed for 5 people x 180lbs each plus 200lbs of luggage. That is over 1,000 lbs. I wouldn't load a trailer, 5 people and fill the trunk with sandbags though or you will probably burn up the transmission.

I have a hitch on my 2001 ES300. I put it on years ago and very easy to install. I used to pull a Yamaha Waverunner at normal highway speed {65-75 mph) with no issues at all. Been from NJ to Florida and back to NJ then down here to Georgia with it. Also pull a 4x8 utility trailer with no more than 1,000 lbs loaded with no issues. Been from NJ to the high mountains of Vermont and back then to Georgia and around town with it. Just a bit slow on take off but take it easy.
