--es300 alarm remote issues--
recently been having problems with my remote to unlock and lock the car/alarm...
it's a hit or miss, it works when it wants to. I've changed the battery and same thing, i tried the spare back up one as well and same thing..the alarm seems fine because when i unlock using the key in the lock it's fine...
what else could it be?

Could be worn out buttons [on the board, not the actual button]. Only reasonable explanation in this case without spending 150$ on a new master key to 'confirm'....
Mine is like this as well, changing the battery twice in a week determined it was definitely the mechanism on the board itself since the batteries tested [in a tester] as 'good'...
I find its the 'lock' that is the worst for me, out of the two, with unlock being more consistent.
Keep in mind people play with these or click them multiple times when locking will wear out a key in 10+ years...

What year is your Lexus?
Check ALL the fuses first.
If you bring it to the Dealer's parts Dept, they should have the equipment to check the remote for you free of charge.
Alternatively, there is a frequency on the FM band of the Radio, on which you can hear the remote Control's signal (If it emits one). Unfortunately I don't know what the frequency is off hand. Maybe someone in the know can chime in.

As far as I know there is no charge. They're hoping to sell you a battery. That's why it's done by the parts department. It takes them 1 minute to check it and it's done as a courtesy.

Called 2 Lexus stealerships around here and both won't check it for free..I doubt its a battery issue but both remotes only work randomly... for example it won't unlock the car but I'll open it then close the door and hit the remote and it works...it works randomly...both batteries have been changed...I can see if had a issue with the remote but 2 of them has me thinking its the alarm system or maybe something's wrong with the signal.

So pepboys has a display you can test your remote out...its by energizer. The remotes fine so what else can it be? I had a electrical issue where a fuse popped...wonder if that cod have lead to the remote losing its signal?
