Rear End of Car Swaying side to side

Eh the car is still costing me less than 150 bucks a month (as of now) on repairs so I don't mind, besides I don't mind spending the money. I have another car but I can't get myself to get rid of this one, and the body and interior are in absolutely mint condition so it has that going for it. I think since 2001 for unexpected repair maybe 7 grand which I don't think is to bad for 220k miles and 12 years. Back to the topic ill replace the rear struts and lateral control arms and hopefully it takes care of the problem. When it's just me in the car the swaying is almost zero to one, but when there's more weight it is more pronounced
I used to own a 1995 E300D, Mercedes diesel, which I got attached to , but which cost me a fortune in constant repairs. There was no end to it. My wife finally threatened to divorce me if I don't get rid of it and get a more reliable car. I did that when I got my current 2001 es300 4 years ago. Best car I ever had. Only one repair in the last 4 years that I've owned it. A leaking rear engine seal. The rest is just regular maintenance. I never looked back on that Mercedes.
Like me, you probably got attached to the car, which I can understand, but maybe it's time to let go, and to get attached to a newer car.

Eh well see, I already have a newer car haha. My justification behind fixing this one is its less then a monthly car payment. This is/was my first car so there is a sentimental factor but the repairs I've been making have never broken the bank, just a few hundred here and there (minus the transmission for $1800). Ill get the suspension done, probably around $400 then we will see from there. So new rear struts and lateral control arms

Either way, he says his car drives fine, and 150$ month is still cheaper than most bi-weekly car payments...

And that 7 grand included suspension related stuff, and calipers. ( idk if you view it as wear and tear or unexpected maintaince. Looking back on it now te knock sensors, oil controls valve, and transmission are the only major repairs the car has ever had, but like you said little stuff adds up.

Weird to hear you say that 150$ is too much. Come to think of it, I seem to spend about 800-1200$ a year on mine including oil changes/tires. So far its something 'new' to replace every year, so it isn't a constant problem.

There is a difference between regular maintenance, wear and tear, and actual repairs, although granted sometimes its hard to separate as to what is what, and that the wear and tear did not happened prematurely. if it happened prematurely, than to my mind it's a repair.
He indicated that he spends $150.00 on REPAIRS. And that he had already spend $7,000 on REPAIRS. That's high. Had it been mostly for maintenance, or wear and tear, than that would be more normal.
By the way, I consider his suspension and brake related costs as part of normal wear and tear not repairs, as such, his repair costs are not as high as he indicated.

I should have been more clear on what was classified as wear and tear and unexpected repairs, in your view of repairs unexpected repairs would be more to 4-5k the cr will go months without needing anything fixed, then it'll need replacing of a few things all in one month it seems, but these items would fall into wear and tear more then breakdowns. That $150 applied to wear and tear I should have said, my mistake. Ill have to look over the service history one these days and calculate everything since new, I'm just curious to as what it would be haha. I do appreciate all the advice though. Until I can get the suspension worked on (I can still drive it but eh) ill be enjoying the gs300 haha

In 100k miles the only repairs that I've had on my RX have been valve cover gasket ($250), and 2 oxygen sensors ($130 + $97). Everything else was all maintenance or just wear and tear that any other car would need done as well. I've spent $477 in repairs, and a total of $3,770.58 including the $477 in repairs.
I think $7k sounds reasonable if that includes everything, (i.e oil, tires, brakes, etc).

So i fiddled with the lights and I got the reverse lights to work, so now the only lights that dont work are the are the 2 that just stay on above the reverse lights. Everything else, including the license plates work. The bulbs are fine and the fuse is fine as well. I have no idea where to start with this.. On a good note i added something called white shepard and the rear main seal leak has stopped
