Clunk/creak when first accelerating
My 96 ES300 just recently started making a clunk/creak when I first start to accelerate. It's right after I let off the brake from a full stop and only happens for about a second or so but it sounds like it is right under my gas pedal. Someone told me it might be the motor mounts? Does that sound possible or does anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks!

yes, my first instinct is motor mounts. Here's a similar thread I posted. the upper "dogbone" is cheap ($15 shipped thru ebay), and 2 bolts. Both my cars had them worn out. Both my cars had the front/lower one worn out but it was a bigger PITA to do. I haven't done the other mounts and I'm not totally cured yet.

Are motor mounts imperative to get replaced right away? I am just curious about how long I might have before this job needs to be done on my car! Thanks again for all the help!
