2nd Gen Lightbulb replacement help
I've noticed that some of my lights are either flickering or pretty much dead.
I've gone to the Sylvannia website and looked at what they recommend for the car.
Dome Light: 194
Map Light: 2040
I just cracked open the Dome Light, and it does not look like a 194 at all. I put 194s in my trunk and courtesy lights.
Furthermore, I can't seem to find a 2040 light anywhere, and a google image search does not yield anything similar to what I actually found in the map light.
Does anyone have any pointers on this? If anyone would be so kind as to list all the bulbs that would be great too. Thank you!

Here's a good site for a rough idea, if not your manual states all the bulbs in the car towards the end of the book...

I don't think I have the manual anymore.
I'm pretty sure I have a 1992 ES300, but everywhere I look, it states a 194 bulb for the dome light.
Thanks for the site 01LEXPL, but it reports the wrong information as well.
The bulb that I'm actually seeing that's in there, is a match to a 1994 ES300, listing it as a DE3175. So I atleast have one of the bulbs!
After 1993, no map light is mentioned. I'm pretty sure that 2040 light is not what I'm seeing in there.

Alright a little bit more digging.
With the assumption that the 1992 Camry and 1992 ES300 are fairly identical, I checked the dome light via sylvannia bulb selector, and it registered as a DE3175. That confirms it in my book.
In terms of the map light, the Camry didn't have any. Another thread posted that 1895 works. Can anyone confirm this for me?

This is not worth all the trouble you're going through. Just go to the dealer and buy them. He'll give you the right ones for your car. Both bulbs together should be around $6.00. Not worth the effort you're putting into getting anything else.

I don't think the dealer will give me LEDs though. I just realized I didn't include that in my first post.
But I am replacing them all with LEDs.
I just found out that the license plate bulbs are in the tail lights, which I'm going to have to remove, so I figure I'll be replacing the bulbs in there as well. Can I change the brake, and reverse lights to LED as well?

Mine is 3rd generation so I can't help you there. Just be aware that when you change to LED's you may have to add a resistance to them, otherwise your "Burned Out Light Warning" on your dash may illuminate, and/or your turn signal flasher may go into fast flash mode indicating what it thinks is a burned out turn signal bulb condition.
For that reason, on my car, (2001 ES300) I changed only the License Plate bulbs to LED'd and I was OK.
