My 98 ES is black with black leather seats. I checked out http://www.leatherique.com/oem-color...nese-cars.html but I am not sure which of these colors is the right one for me: Euro Black or Dk Gray?

Haven't used leatherique myself but seen the results on a friend's Beemer. Was impressed. It's the best DIY leather restoration you're going to find. If you don't want to mess with that you can always go with a pro and get a quote from an upholstery shop.

Not sure if they're the same but I have a 00' Platinum with black leather seats and it would without a doubt be "Euro Black".

Simple do it yourself solution. Take a sample of dash item or anything that matches the seat color to Home Depot and have them match the color in a sample size bottle ($6 or so) of premium interior latex paint.

Clean the area to be redone and brush the paint on a small area. Let it sit for about a minute and then wipe it off with a paper towel. All the creases will fill with the paint and also leave a small film on top. You can experiment with more layers of time to leave on before wiping off. Buff with cloth when dry.

I know this sound crazy, but I do it on my LS430. It almost exactly what an upholstery shop will do if you ask them to redye the panel. It doesn't peal and flake off, but it will wear off in a few months. Then just repaint.

About 3 months ago I got a small tear (1/2 inch) on the side of the driver's seat of my RX300. Looked into many options for repair kits (including this thread) and just haven't gotten any confidence on a long-term solution. I used several types of tape (electrical, movers, painters, etc.) since the cut appeared and it's now grown to over an inch. Wish I had begun using the option in the attached photos - 3M Health Care tape - from the very beginning. Works best since it's slightly flexible - for it's intended purpose cuts on the human body. It's not the softer fabric type health care tape. It's a little sturdier which I think helps. All the tape I had previously used were too rigid and therefore fell off after a couple days. The 3M Health Care tape has been applied once (directly covering the 1 inch cut, and one piece of tape on either side) and hasn't budged in nearly 2 weeks. I'm still interested in a long term solution but this might help you in the short-term too.
