1999 ES300 transmission cable linkage broken
My 1999 ES300 has an automatic transmission. One day after starting the car I moved the shifter out of park, but the shifter did not actuate the transmission. I found the cable from the shifter is connected to the transmission via a rod at the end of the cable. This rod broke right at the transmission lever. I can move this lever by hand and the transmission shifts properly. Any advice on how to replace just the rod (and where to get this part), or if I need to replace the entire cable? Or some other way to re-attach the rod to the lever? I'd like to avoid the time it would take to replace the entire cable. Thanks! - Gary
