95ES300 grinds when starting if i crank too quickly.
For the past few months, my car makes a grinding noise when i try to crank it. Ive discovered that if i wait about 10 seconds after i turn the key to on, then try to crank, it usually doesn't grind, it starts just fine.
What happens in the few seconds after i turn the key to on that would cause the grinding to go away?
If i put the key into the ignition and turn it to start immediately, i always get this grinding/buzzing noise. I appreciate any advice.

Right, UNLESS I wait about 10 seconds after i turn the key to on. If i do that, then usually it starts just fine. This is where im confused. If the starter is bad, why would waiting to crank it solve the problem?
