Default Cel - p0135 & p1705

P0135 = HO2S Heater Circuit Malfunction, Bank 1 Sensor 1
(Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit - Bank 1 Sensor 1.)

P1705 = Short in Transmission Range Switch Circuit (More than one range position is on at the same time)

but i also found...

P1705 = Direct Clutch Speed Sensor

.......ah! ive searched read alot of threads but they all seemed old threads... wanted some new information to see if theres any updated advice... having your CEL on sucks!

Interesting combination of codes, has any work been done on the car recently? You did not mention what year your car is.

The first thing I would suggest is looking at the wiring harness. The main engine harness runs from the ECU, thru the firewall, and then branches out. One branch runs between the firewall and cyl bank 1, then over to the TB, MAF, and trans. Everything you are having issues with is on this branch. I would look very closely at this, especially around the header. Look for damage to the harness.

the car hasnt had any recent repairs... only an oil change about 3 months ago... tomorrow im replacing the alternator belt along with the valve cover gaskets...

i no p0135 is the sensor thats gone bad... but p1705 doesnt seem to be very specific as far as what it really is.. ive searched and have found different answers as far as which sensor it is and where it is located...

this sucks.
