Default Wheel spacers sizing

Those of you that have wheels spacers, what method did you use to figure out what size was needed to fit flush. I have 17' wheels with a 45mm offset and 225/45/17 tires. I know I should probably run 215/50/17 none -the -less I put them on to see what they looked like and they were too sunken in and also rubbed on the strut tower. I have them posted for sale in the wheel forum. I am going to go with some 18" wheels instead and hopefully do a little more homework before my purchase. Any offset or spacer sizing will be gladly appreciated. I know many of you will also recommend a drop but that will have to wait until late summer or early fall.

I've got 15mm hubcentric spacers sitting in my rear due to having the same issue. I had a bunch of universal 5mm spacers that I used to see how much I really need for the wheels to sit flush.

Thanks Sash for the expedient response. Did you use spacers for the front also? What brand of spacers and how hard were they to install?

I didn't need spacers in the front because the wheel cleared the strut tower.

Those are the exact ones I've got. I had my shop pull out my old studs and put in longer studs. Wasn't hard at all . . the spacers go right on the studs.

You might be able to get away with 12mm depending on your width
