92 ES300-dome fuse keeps blowing (FIXED)
HELP! I am working on my friends 92 ES300...his battery died and when he jumped off his car with another, he hooked up the cables backwards. I get a call from him and realized he "at least" fried the main fuse. Anyway, after replacing the Main Fuse, and radio fuse, the dome fuse (yellow 20) blows everytime, as soon as you place it in. The car runs perfectly, just everything the dome fuse controls (dome light, door lights, alarm, power locks, trunk release) do not work. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Welp, you've obviously got a short in something!!!
Dome powers the clock, is a line of power to the radio, the antenna assembly stuff, (I think the CD player also).
I was looking at my haynes wiring diag for a Camry instead of opening the '93 ES 300 FSM & going to the body section. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...howtopic=26449
But I *think* the stock amp under the passanger's seat is powered by the dome fuse too. if not, it's most likely that is get's *some* supply from it. The rest of the radio equipment does.

Thank you Pheonix!!!
I downloaded the 93 FSM from the link you gave me and after hours of unplugging every single system the dome fuse fed, I finally found my short in the power antenna. Now everything is back together and I have peace of mind finding the problem. There is no way I would have figured this one out without the FSM with all the wiring diagrams and component locations.
Thanks again,
Gene

Thanks GringoEJS
You have saved me many hours of investigation. My 1992 ES300 was jump started backwards and I had spent hours pulling things apart and testing them - everything seemed to point to the integration relay which worked perfectly when I pulled it from the vehicle. I am so pleased that I found your solution.
Now - did your airbag light get stuck on like mine? I have again pulled everything apart and am down to the Airbag sensor module - I hope it has a protection diode in it!
Regards
Tim
